Nicolas is a summer associate in our Palo Alto office. He expects to graduate from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2018. Nicolas is on the board of the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice and will direct the journal's annual symposium next year. Last fall, Nicolas was an extern for the Honorable Terry J. Hatter Jr. of the Central District of California. Prior to law school, Nicolas helped develop a food-spotting smartphone application and an accompanying online magazine in Vancouver, Canada. Nick Werle

Nick is a summer associate in our New York office, a member of the Yale Law School class of 2018, and a native New Yorker. Prior to law school, Nick was studying corporate and financial crime as a Marshall Scholar in the United Kingdom. During his two years in London, he received an M.Sc. in economic policy from University College London and an M.Sc. in risk and finance at the London School of Economics. As an undergraduate, Nick studied physics and modern critical philosophy at Brown University. Lauren is a summer associate in our Denver office. She attends Harvard Law School and expects to graduate in 2018. As a member of Harvard's Board of Student Advisers, Lauren serves as a teaching assistant and 1L mentor. Before law school, she gained experience in a variety of industries, working as a congressional staffer, ski instructor, legal secretary, insurance professional, and cheese monger, among other things. Emily is a summer associate in our Los Angeles office. She attends Pepperdine University School of Law and expects to graduate in 2018. Following graduation, Emily will clerk for the Honorable Carlos Bea of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, a co-chair of the Pepperdine International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team, a teaching assistant to first-year Legal Research & Writing students, and a research assistant to a Pepperdine constitutional law professor. Last fall, Emily externed for the Honorable Sandra Ikuta of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and she is currently involved in Pepperdine's Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic.
