It’s hard to believe that WilmerHale’s summer program is at its end. It’s a good sign that it feels like only yesterday that I sat down at my desk to write my first blog post. Over the past 10 weeks, I have become good friends with my three fellow summer associates, learned from partners about their practice, talked to associates about their lives both inside and outside the office, and worked on exciting cases that cover topics as disparate as the civil forfeiture of artwork and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, not to mention the pro bono opportunity to help a foster parent adopt two children.

In my second blog post, I wrote about how genuinely kind, respectful and happy everyone in the office seemed. That hasn’t changed, and looking back at my experience here, I realize that’s one of WilmerHale’s most winning attributes: people here like what they do, and they like each other. It is so important to work in an environment where walking down the hall to someone’s office to ask a question or simply say hello doesn’t feel daunting, and where co-workers stop in to ask you how you’re getting along, or what you did last weekend.

This is my final blog post, and I’d like to thank you all for taking the time to read it this summer. Wherever you are, and whatever it is that you’re doing, remember to ask for feedback; be proactive; and be curious. You never know what you might learn, and from whom you might learn it.
