I still haven’t managed to work out the cycle route to work because, after four (!) weeks, my apartment is still not back to normal after my ceiling collapsed. While I have a ceiling again, everything got covered in a fine layer of dust and dirt which will take some time to get rid of.

In a previous post I mentioned that the international arbitration group in London moved offices. There are now several nice, little restaurants close to the new office in an area called Shepherd Market, which has a village feel about it, with small pedestrian streets, boutiques, pubs, restaurants and cafes with outdoor tables.

I wanted to find out if and how I can cycle to work today – but that was before I came home last night to find that there was water dripping down from the flat above me. That in itself was not a pleasant sight; what was more worrying, however, was the fact that the ceiling was sagging dangerously low – and to spare you the suspension, the ceiling did not survive the night.

I never thought my job as a lawyer would involve learning so much about the different types of sports cars that exist, but since WilmerHale’s international arbitration group in London has moved to the new Park Lane office, my knowledge on this subject is increasing at an astonishing rate.
